Synopsis[edit | edit source]
When Jenkins body-switches with a 28-year-old slacker named Jeff, he must find his way back into the Library to correct the mistake. But he will need a team to do it, and enlists the help of Jeff’s hapless Dungeons & Dragons friends. Can they make it in time, before Jeff destroys the Library?
Plot[edit | edit source]
Eve and the Librarians set off to leave the Library to go on yet another mission. When they call for Jenkins to open a door for them to teleport to their destination, none of them appear to notice that it is a random and simple man named Jeff. Some time later, the real Jenkins wakes at Jeff's residence and quickly determines that he and Jeff have switched bodies. Jenkins is berated by Jeff's mother, who wants him to perform his household chores, including feeding and tending to her many cats. Jenkins must catch a ride from Jeff's co-workers since Jeff's mother's car doesn't work.
Eve and the Librarians return to the Library and scold Jeff (as Jenkins) for not sending them to the precise location although they were able to solve their case regardless. Jenkins isn't able to get into the Library and when the team observes him on the security feed, they merely dismiss him as a crazy person. Jenkins returns to Jeff's home and with the help of Jeff's co-workers he discovers that Jeff had been an avid fan of the Librarians and even built a shrine to them. Jeff's co-workers are a group of techno-nerd and have been using the team names as Dungeon and Dragons characters. As Jenkins continues to talk to Jeff's co-workers, he determines that Jeff acquired a dangerous book which he used to switch bodies and recruits this group to help him work on getting back into the Library. They all believe him when he tells them the truth about who he is and how he ended up in Jeff's body. Jenkins trains the group and together they work on getting into the Library through a back door.
In the Library, the rest of the group grows increasingly suspicious of Jeff till he is forced to admit who he really is and how he was able to switch into the body of Jenkins. Jeff leads them to where he had left the book but they find that it has dissolved into slime, as it had been the prison of Asmodeus, Duke of Hell. Jeff using the book to switch bodies had weakened the spell binding him inside and now he is running amok in the Library searching for a particular gem he can use to full free himself.
Jenkins becomes discouraged but his new friends help him navigate through the various traps and challenges till they finally get all the way back into the Library. Jeff is saddened by the idea of having to go back to what he sees as a boring life but Jenkins advises him of the importance of returning to his body and that there is much to enjoy in life as a mortal. Together they realise that the gem Asmodeus is after isn't in the Library because Jeff had given it to his mother. They race back to Jeff's house and rescue Jeff's mother and defeat Asmodeus, who had already ran off after defeating the other Librarians.
After Jenkins and Jeff defeat Asmodeus, they find that they had switched back into their regular bodies. Jenkins decides to continue his friendship with the group and even becomes the Dungeon Master of Jeff's D&D group.
