The Crown of King Arthur is the former crown of King Arthur. It was forged by Merlin in order to give Arthur control over the magic he needed to build Camelot. It also enabled anyone who wore it to control Arthur's weapons of power, the greatest of which was the magic sword, Excalibur.
Biography[]
When Camelot fell to Goth invaders, the crown was taken to Ancient Germania where it was hidden in a secret henge in the Black Forest. The crown remained hidden there for over a thousand years, with even the Librarians being unable to find it.
In 2014, Dulaque killed Jonas Sheir on the doorstep of The Library to prevent him from showing Flynn Carsen a clue he'd discovered concerning the whereabouts of the crown. However, a picture of that clue had been among the papers that Sheir was carrying with him. Carsen found that clue, a picture of the Crown of King Arthur painting, at the crime scene, and that clue sent he, Eve Baird, Cassandra Cillian, Ezekiel Jones and Jacob Stone on a quest to find and recover the crown from its hiding place. After the successful completion of their quest, the crown was taken to the Library, but a misguided Cassandra then allowed Lamia and other members of the Serpent Brotherhood to enter and raid the Library. Lamia took the crown and put it on, then used it to control Excalibur, causing the sword to inflict on Carsen a wound that would never heal.[1]
Later, after Excalibur had been put back in the Stone of King Arthur in order to release magic back into the world, Carsen confronted Lamia and, following a plan provided by a repentant Cassandra, used an improvised electromagnet to pull the crown from her head, thus freeing Excalibur from her control.[2]
The crown was one of the artifacts taken away by D.O.S.A. for safekeeping that were later returned to the Library. It was last seen being put on the pillow on a shelf by Jenkins.[3]
