Amy Meyer is a high school student and participant in the Chicagoland STEM Fair.[1]

Biography[]

When Amy Meyer was in first grade she began competing in STEM competitions, and by middle school, elite universities like M.I.T. and Dartmouth were interested in recruiting her. Amy's life was highly controlled by her domineering mother, who wanted her to focus on her academic success at the expense of everything else in her life.

Amy was a contestant in the Chicagoland STEM Fair, where she presented an experiment focusing on molecular cloning. She was considered the front-runner to win the fair, as she had a long history of winning previous events. As such, she was both envied and disliked by her competitors.

Despite her academic success, Amy wished to experience a normal life and hoped to have a chance to pursue other interests. Since Amy was not as competitive as the other STEM Fair contestants, she refused to use the Advanced Learning Buddy app to get ahead.

During the fair, she had a heart-to-heart conversation with Cassandra Cillian that helped her realize that she had to live her own life and put aside her mother's wishes for her. When Amy learned that magic is real and that her fellow students were in danger, she agreed to help The Librarians, disobeying her mother in the process. The Librarians and Amy formed a magical Faraday Cage to protect the fair antendees from the negative fallout of the Rule of Three. Amy used her reputation to convince everyone that she was conducting a dangerous experiment with a five-sided Tesla coil field to trick them into entering the Faraday Cage. After she was disqualified from the fair, Amy appeared to have the beginnings of a relationship with one of her schoolmates, Dashell.
