Fortuna is the Roman goddess of luck. She planned to rule the world though luck, which would cause chaos and destruction, and would render all planning and skill irrelevant.
Biography[]
Ancient Times[]
Jupiter, the head of the Roman Gods, wished to choose a new god to rule over humanity, so he designed a competition between Saturn, Mars, Fortuna, and Miverva to choose who to rule over humanity. Fortuna won and decided to rule humans through luck; no choice or judgement would be left. This would cause chaos so after seeing his mistake, Jupiter turned Fortuna into a disembodied spirit that was only able to exist in the gambling halls of human-kind.
Present Day[]
A statue of Fortuna outside of the Fortune Downs Racetrack and Casino was charged with magic by a ley line running under the casino as well as the wishful thinking of the gamblers within the casino. Every day Bennie Konopka would rub the statue wishing for good luck, and one day the statue came to life. Fortuna then gave him good luck so that he would help her be able to rule the world with luck and Bennie soon owned the casino. Fortuna started stealing people's luck by blowing a kiss in a commercial for the casino which is played constantly within it. She then planned to blow a kiss in the winner's circle of a race so that she could take the luck of even more people in the world. The Librarians found out about the unluckiness of the casino and investigated, finding Fortuna to be the cause. They found out then whenever someone wins it hurts Fortuna and slowly turns her back into a statue. They eventually defeated her and turned her back into a statue by making people win through rigging machines and the race. Once she had turned back into a statue, they took it to the Library to keep it safe.
