Real Life Counterpart[]

Himiko (170-258) was a Shaman from ancient Japan. Elected queen at the age of 14, she is a very mysterious figure since her own time: historians don't know exactly who she was, nor where was her kingdom. There is in fact an ancient bronze mirror called "Himiko's mirror" which was unearthed at the Higashinomiya Tomb in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The real-life artifact is believed to be a so-called Chinese magic mirror, and may have used to cast images of wizards and divine beasts for ancient Japanese rituals.

Trivia[]

  • Even though it was vital to the plot of "And the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy", its debut episode, its magical abilities were not shown.
  • It can reflect light, like any mirror. As such, in can be used to send messages in Morse Code.
