Nikola Tesla was a brilliant inventor and engineer.

Biography[]

In the early 1900s, Nikola Tesla created a prototype for a wireless power transmission system in the town of Wardenclyffe Falls. Unfortunately, the experiment ended in disaster, as the townspeople were knocked out of sync with the rest of the world and trapped in the dimensional boundary. When Tesla realized what had happened, he managed to stabilize the town by turning the transmitters into a circuit, and found a way to keep Mabel Collins, who had been with him in the control room, within her own body.

Although Tesla designed a re-integration system in hopes of bringing the townspeople back, it required more power than could be built up during his lifetime. In return for giving some of his patents to the government, he was able to protect the dam that powered the re-integration system as well as the area containing the gas lamps.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The real Nikola Tesla was an inventor, electrical engineer, and mechanical engineer who was greatly interested in wireless transmission of both power and communication. The base for his most notable wireless project was Wardenclyffe Tower.
  • An early version of the script for "And the City of Light" had Tesla appearing as a character, but with three genius Librarians as main characters, it was felt that having Tesla appear would make things too complicated.[2]
